They dont mind dying since you can get them back with the Ascendancy later, or because they do something positive on dying like exiling cards that can be cast later

A mill strategy can be ambitious in commander with 100 card decks, but Phenax in combination with walls and other high-toughness creatures can mill out your opponent insanely fast

Id much rather have the Draft Booster equivalents that I pick up while playing the game at least those will evoke good memories of great times with friends
