There is a book plate and a name in ink on the inside front cover as well as part of the original dust cover

To start with a confession : this bit came as part of a collection and my first reaction was to dismiss it as some sort of gimmick

One stirrup is a little more open than the other - possibly it was always used on the mounting side

These round brass or bronze stirrups come from India
