The combination of seeing five cards and drawing two is surprisingly potent, especially in formats that have good ramp (Sol Ring, Ancient Tomb) and where the power level between cards varies greatly (singleton formats, Vintage)
You can never count this deck out because it can just pivot to a different strategy and if built correctly can absolutely win without either commander ever hitting the battlefield
It makes a decent lord for decks that churn out Thopters via cards like Sai, Master Thopterist, and the lack of a once per turn restriction lets you do some wild stuff with mass Treasure production
