These are my very first recollections of the Okanagan Valley when we visited my grandparents' orchard just a mile south of downtown Oliver

I still love the look of them

this is not a British Columbia wildflower

I also wanted a bright contrast to this early litho-style piece of artwork from the mid 1800s

This new watercolour is based on the the flowers I saw at the top of Idaho Peak in British Columbia’s Kootenay Region in the summer of 2019
